“Playing for 15 Reasons requires serious volume and power so I opted for a 24” birch Tama Starclassic kick-drum to cut through the wall of sound. Despite the inherent punch and attack of the birch kick-drum, I was always missing that low-end and was considering a switch to maple. Once I added the kickport to my birch kick I found the low end I was looking. Also, playing on a wide open 24” kick often created some challenges when it came to fast double-bass action which ended up losing articulation at higher speeds. The kickport helped to focus the sound and add definition at higher tempos. The kickport effectively killed two birds with one stone. I would say the kickport was one of the best additions I have made to my drumset. More low-end, more definition and power without sacrificing tone and very affordable as well. Well done guys!”
