KickPort International - NAMM 2010 - Joe Porcaro

Joe Porcaro with Jotan Afanador and KickPort Crew
Legend Joe Parcaro came by the booth and hung out for a while. He was very impressed with KickPort artist Jotan Afanador’s performance at our booth! Joe’s three sons were all musicians in the band Toto: keyboardist Steve Porcaro, bassist Mike Porcaro and late drummer Jeff Porcaro. Joe guested on Toto’s hit album Toto IV. Along with fellow music educator and drummer, Ralph Humphrey, Joe was one of the founders of the Los Angeles Music Academy (LAMA) located in Pasadena, California.
Porcaro has recorded with Pink Floyd, Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, Freddie Hubbard, Don Ellis, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, Natalie Cole, The Monkees, Gladys Knight and Madonna. He has also done film score work, including with James Newton Howard, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Danny Elfman, John Frizzell.
Quite an honor to have met him and have him check out the KickPort. Our mutual friends say that Joe was very impressed with the KickPort!
