Jayson Brinkworth

Currently Jayson is working with top selling country artist Aaron Pritchett. As well, he finds time to freelance, record, educate and write about drumming and music. He is also co-owner of Music In The House, a music school in its 8th year with 375 students and 18 teachers on board.  In addition, Jayson contributes to Hudson Music’s educational music magazine.

When we asked Jayson what it’s like to play a KickPort, he replied:

“There is a bass drum BK ( before Kickport ) and AK ( after Kickport ). This thing rocks my world and all of the engineers and sound techs I work with. My kick drums will never be the same, thanks Kickport !!!!

Felipe has been performing, recording, teaching and touring for the last 10 years. He has a growing resume of touring performances and recordings with Carmine Appice’s Slamm!!, Chubby Checker, the shockabilly band The Dead Elvi, Jerry Cherry, In Musth, Senator and The New Republic, Dreamworks artists OURS, Road Runner Records blues artist Peter Karp and the Roadshow and jump/jazz band Jumptime, Lizard King Records rock band Surefire, ISM, Chubby Checker, The Monkees, and for the last few years as drummer/back-up vocalist for the Davy Jones Band. Felipe specializes in teaching beginners on drumset and orchestral percussion, reading, rudiments, and various styles of music.

During that crucial time, Buckley developed his rhythm and percussion skills into a diverse array of styles including rock, latin, and jazz. This gave him the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the music industry, like Spanish pop legend Julio Iglesias.

Soon Buckley would record an album for the Colombian popstar Shakira; an album that became “Dónde Están Los Ladrones”. Since then, he has done four more albums and three tours with Shakira. During that span of years, Brendan also found time to record with DMX, Lauren Hill, Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias Jr, Damien Rice, Ozomatli, Wyclef Jean, and Jackson Browne.

As he continues to drive the rhythm of many artists’ careers, we are proud to have Brendan on the team and know that the KickPort will help him achieve his goals. Good luck Brendan!

What sets you apart from other drummers?: A desire to fill out the sound palette….to incorporate new sounds, odd rhythms and an open stance technique to approaching the instrument. I do not seek to be the greatest, the fastest or whatever….i believe that everyone brings something different to the table and a vast table it is….

Bruce came from a very musically famous family for a few generations. His background includes classical training on the brass instruments for around 15 years, piano lessons for number years, guitar for quite a while, and drums since the age of 5 years old. With his diversity in music, he finally settled on playing drums professionally, and has been at it for 45 years in 2010. He has played with a multitude of musicians across the county during all those years, including Steve Miller and Elvin Bishop.

He decided a number of years ago that the “road” was not for him , so he limited himself to playing more close to home with the top of the line musicians in his area and in the state of Iowa.

His current band is called The Flock of Funk, which you can become a fan of on Facebook.

Endlessly waiting for a new album by your favourite band sucks. Just take Tool. Or A
Perfect Circle. Well, I’ve got good news for you, for anybody longing for something fresh,
waiting for an album that’s pushing your adrenaline to new heights, electrifying your
whole body.

Hailing from Great Britain, Order Of Voices are ready to send these currents through
your system. They are young but experienced, and they have a whole lot of ambitions:
They want to create the best music you heard in at least ten years from a British band. I
can honestly say they accomplished that goal, and the only real competition from their
homeland I can think of may be Esoterica from London. Order Of Voices actually
managed to deliver such a good debut, that all your secret wishes may be granted.

One thing that really stands out is the guitar production on this album: Clear-cut,
striking, powerful riffs for the rhythm architecture and spherical, slightly reverbed
melodic lines - which brings me to the key word: melodies. Like Tool and APC, Order Of
Voices work with a huge array of melodies, full of drama, intensity and emotions which
bind their energy and release them in - simply - stunning moments, and don’t limit
themselves to spectacular refrains.

Just listen to “Burn Black Light”, listen to “Reaching Down”. These songs make you turn the volume up to eleven and fly along the music. Just everything seems to be fitting perfectly: guitars, drums and the incredible charismatic vocals, everything comes with just the right sound. Despite its proximity to the aforementioned popular bands that sound develops a life of its own, an own soul.

Count in the progressive ventures (”For Me”), multilayered vocals (”What I Breathe”)
and wall-of-sound techniques (”Forgiveness”). Put all these elements together and you
get a hit like “Don’t Falter” - wonderful, absolutely magnificent.

“Order Of Voices” is like a trip, a 40-minute voyage without a pause, coming with a
musical concept that keeps you thrilled from the very first to the last minute - you got
my word on that. And when the band is going full circle with the beautiful, balladic “Then
Fall” and the following instrumental “Into The Sea”, you’ll know. That’s really the
album you’ve been waiting for the whole time, even if you never heard of ORDER OF
VOICES before - until now. They truly might be “your new favourite band”!
